    The Veles Ensemble, hailed by the Guardian and Gramophone for their recent CD releases, presents a short (ca. 1h) and exciting evening concert with Beethoven’s string trio Op.9 No.2, a virtuosic trio concertant by Paganini’s teacher Alessandro Rolla and an intreaguing and witty mid 20th century string trio by composer and Holocaust victim Józef Koffler.

Veles: about the name

Veles is one of the main old slavic gods: the god of earth, waters, forests and the underworld. However, he is also the god of magic – and along with that – music, as these were believed to be closely related.
